The guys were trying to break into Mahesh's car. Poorna was thinking why the other guy went to open the back door, but not hers. "Are they going to kidnap me as well?" She thought. "Ayyo Mahesh enga pona enna vittutu" she cried. As she was crying, she saw Mahesh coming out of the building. She finally was able to breathe seeing him. First Mahesh was walking down looking at his mobile. When he looked up, he got stunned and became speechless for few seconds which seemed like a decade. Once he realised that the guys are trying to break into their car, he got concerned for Poorna. He could not see her clearly. He started to run towards the car while shouting "Hey yaar Athu? Poorna, Poornaaa......". Both the guys got alerted, one guy signalled something to the other guy. The guy who was trying to open the back seat door is not as violent as the guy who was trying to open the driver seat door. (So for the sake of the story, lets call the guy opening the driver seat door as violent guy and the guy who was trying to open the back seat door as less violent guy). Less violent guy hesitated to go, but then went towards Mahesh and pulled a knife and warned Mahesh to stay in his place. Poorna got scared when she saw the knife. The violent guy said "Hey avan thaan car owner nu ninakiren, avankitta irunthu car key vaangu da, tharalanna enna pannanumo pannitu keya vaangu". Poorna became blue and pale when she heard these words. The guy asked Mahesh to give the key. "Hey ozhunga keya kuduthudu, illana unna kuthittu naane eduthupen". Mahesh looked at Poorna, now as he can see her little more clear, he saw her looking scared. He said "keya kudukiren, en wifea enkooda kootitu vantha piragu keya kudukiren". The less violent guy with the knife turned to other guy and said "hey wifea vitta pothumam, avane keya kudukkurennu sollitan, ethuku apram thevai illatha veen vambu ellam? Namakku car kidacha pothum".

Violent guy: "Car kaga thaan da naanum vanthen, aana ponnoda thooka porom nu manasula ninachittane, chittukuruvi madiri azhaga irukkada, itha vitta namakku vera chance kashtam, pesama avana adichu pottutu keya eduppiya, atha vittutu beram pesittu irukka?" He yelled at him while keep trying to break into the car.

M: "Sir, please en wife ku nalla headache and fever, yerkanave bayanthu poi aal weaka irukka, thayavu senju ennai avakitta poga vidunga"

Less violent guy: "Dei vidu da, ponnu pona poguthu, cara eduthutu kilambalam"

Violent guy thought to himself "Ivan oruthan, ivan velaikku aaga maatan, itha vera vazhiyula deal pannuvom, enakku cara vida ippo iva thaan venum". He decided something in his mind and turned to Mahesh and asked "Sari un vazhikke varom, keya kudu". Mahesh said "Naan poi en wifea kooptukiren, athukappuram keya kudukkuren'.

Violent guy laughed. "Romba samarthiyam thaan pa nee, unna antha side vitta cara neeye eduthutu kilamba maatiya?"

M: "Apdi paatha naan keya kuduthathum en wife a kidnap pannitu neenga poga mateengala?"

Less violent guy: "Sir correcta thaan da pesuraru, decenta vera irukkaru, sonna sonna madiri keya kuduthuduvaru"

Violent guy: "Unna poi thiruda kootitu vanthen paaru, enna sollanum"

Less violent guy: "Naan thaan varala, enakku ithellam pazhakkam illa, pickpocket oda niruthikkirenu sonnen, nee thaan kekkala"

As they were arguing back and forth, Mahesh punched the guy who was standing close to him, the guy collapsed and the knife got slipped and Mahesh got hold of it. While the violent guy was in shock, Mahesh pushed the less violent guy onto the other guy and both of them fell down together in a bush. Mahesh then opened the car and got down in the driver seat within the gap of few seconds. The violent guy jumped on him while Mahesh trying to close the door, Mahesh tried to punch him, but the guy bent down and missed his punch. There was a struggle between Mahesh and the violent guy while closing the door, finally Mahesh managed to punch him, the violent guy fell down, but he held the door stopping Mahesh from closing it. Mahesh took his right leg out and kicked and punched the violent guy. The violent guy's eyes became so red, he pulled a pocket knife and slashed Mahesh's arm. Mahesh screamed "ahhh..." in pain. Poorna got tensed, "Enna aachu Mahesh? Enna aachu?" She didn't see the guy slashing Mahesh's arm. The violent guy said "Ozhunga irangidu, illana innum kuthuven". Mahesh took out his right leg as if he was about to get down, but he kicked the violent guy in his stomach, the violent guy couldn't bear the pain and fell off. Mahesh then closed the door and drove the car to the portico of the hotel which had more lights. Mahesh started to honk the horn continously. The hotel staff and college students came out and Mahesh got out and took them near the bush. They got hold of the thieves and called the police. Meanwhile the hotel staff called an ambulance after seeing Mahesh's arm being slashed. Mahesh and Poorna both were taken to hospital in ambulance as Poorna also fainted after seeing Mahesh arm being slashed and blood pouring out of it. Mahesh was conscious and was worried about Poorna. His eyes became wet thinking what Poorna must have gone through when the thieves were trying to break in. Mahesh was treated for the arm and was informed that Poorna has viral fever, food poison and is unconscious due to shock and low bp. Mahesh asked if he can see her and be with her. But the Dr said that he can go and see her after the blood transfer and drips as Mahesh lost some blood. The hotel manager arrived and tried to be there for Mahesh and Poorna. He took care of the medical expenses for Mahesh and Poorna. He was on the call to someone.

Manager: "Ellarum naalaiku kalaila assemble aagi irukkanum, yen customer ku serve panna avlo neram aachu enna nu enakku explanation varanum"

The Police went to Mahesh and enquired about what actually happened. He told everything as long as he knows. They wanted to talk to Poorna, but since she was unconscious, they said they will come back in the morning for the statement as well as for the signatures for FIR. Police also talked to the manager and the two staff who were with the manager. Once the police enquiry was over, manager talked to his staff.

Manager: "Gopalsamy, naalaiku kalaila first thing namma watchman yen gate la nikkalannu visarikanum, severe warning kudukkanum, mudinja night timela innoru watchman podanum, namma hotel ku nu oru per irunthuchu, ippo athellam kettudum pola irukku, thappu enmelayum konjam irukku, entrance gate la irunthu building reach panra varaikum irukura driveway and parking spacela innum neraiya lights podanunu neenga sollite iruntheenga, season vantha piragu paathukalam nu naan thaan konjam alatchiyama irunthuten, naalaiku lights poda yerpadu pannunga"

Gopalsamy: "Kandippa sir"

Manager: "Ivanga details ellam visarichu avanga viruppa patta moonu naal namma hotela freeya rest edukka offer pannunga, apram antha thambiku car otta mudiyumo ennamo theriyala, Krishna, suppose avanga ooruku poga viruppa patta avangala neengale drive pannitu poratha offer pannunga, kalaila avanga ezhunthathum avanga permission kudutha oru thadava avanga cara mechanic kitta service ku vida offer pannunga, sariya?"

Gopalsamy and Krishna: "Ok sir"

Next day morning, the manager talked to Mahesh and apologized for what happened and requested that they should stay in their hotel for few days until they recover and he also offered a driver for them to go to Kodaikanal. Mahesh appreciated the manager's efforts to sort out their shortcomings in the hotel and their care towards Mahesh and Poorna.

Mahesh and Poorna got discharged and finished their formalities with the police. When they were shown the photos of the thieves, Mahesh told the police that the guy who was short is not violent and also looked like it was his first attempt in car jacking and he wasn't happy with the idea of kidnapping Poorna. So Mahesh requested the Police not to be hard on that guy.

The hotel staff drove Mahesh and Poorna to the hotel. Poorna asked "thirumba ethuku inga porom? Kodaikanal poidalame?" with concern. Mahesh replied "illa Poorna, unakku fever adhigama irukku, enakkum drive panna mudiyathu, rendu naal inga thangitte pogalam".

P: "Aana avanga thaan Kodaikanal la kondu poi vidurennu sonnangale"

M: "Sonnanga thaan, aana konjam rest eduthutu pogalannu enakku thonuthu"

P: "Enakku anga pogave pidikala, bayama irukku"

M: "Nee bayapadatha Poorna, inimel anga oru bayamum illa"

Krishna the driver said "Amam Madam, nethu thaan apdi nadanthuduchu, innaila irunthu naanga more secureda hotela maatha ella steps um edukka arambichitom, neenga bayapada vendiya avasiyame illa".

When they reached the hotel, Poorna saw people working to put more lamp posts through the driveway. She started to feel bit safe. They took Mahesh and Poorna to a nice room. Mahesh and Poorna refreshed and changed their dresses. Poorna worn a nighty. Mahesh worn a tracksuit bottom, a vest, but couldn't lift his hand to wear a T-Shirt. He was going through his clothes to see if there is any casual shirt, he saw the pink one and the one he was wearing when he went to Rameswaram.

P: "Enna thedureenga?"

M: "Illa entha shirt podalannu yosikiren"

P: "T-shirt irukkulla? Atha pottuka vendiya thaana?"

M: "Illa Poorna, kaiya romba lift panna mudiyala"

P: "Sari apdina vidunga, shirt podavum konjam kashtama thaan irukkum, inga naama thaana irukkom, vidunga"

Mahesh touched Poorna's forehead.

M: "Innum fever irukku, paduthuko"

P: "Mmm.... neengalum rest edunga"

M: "Nee poi padu, naan konjam calls ellam panna vendi irukku"

Mahesh went to the balcony, called Raghav and explained the situation. Raghav got tensed to hear what happened, but he reassured Mahesh to take things easy and come back to work once he feels good. Mahesh also talked about the first floor portion on the NRI couple home and asked Raghav to get the key from the owner. Then Mahesh came to the room and said "Poorna, kalaila irunthu appavum athaiyum rendu moonu thadava call pannitanga, naan edukkala, inga nadantha ethaiyum solla vendannu enakku thonuthu, nee enna ninakira?"

P: "Amam Mahesh, amma romba bayanthuduvanga, yerkanave udambu sari illa"

M: "Sari apdina naama Kodaikanal reach pannita madiriye pesalama?"

P: "Mm ok"

They called the family and talked to them and finished the call without revealing anything. There was a knock on the door. "Sir breakfast eduthutu vanthirukom".

Mahesh asked if they could make porridge. They said yes and brought porridge with some thuvaiyal. Waiter asked "Sir Madam ku thaan fever, porridge ok, ungaluku porridge pothuma Sir? Vera yedhavathu venunalum sollunga". Mahesh denied saying porridge is enough. Poorna looked at him and asked "neenga vera yedhavathu nallatha sapidalam illa?". Mahesh replied "yen intha kanjiku enna kurachal? Enakku ithuve pothum". Poorna felt touched by Mahesh's gesture.

Once they finished the breakfast, Mahesh called the waiter to take back the bowls. He asked him to display the "do not disturb" board. Mahesh and Poorna sat on the bed stretching their legs. Mahesh took his mobile and started to check something. Poorna watched this and sulked. She waited for five minutes or so, but he was still doing something on his mobile. Poorna went to him and grabbed his mobile and switched it off.

M: "Hey enna panra? Work related a paathutu irunthen"

P: "Neenga ethuvum paaka vendam, Raghav annavuku call panni solliteengalla?"

M: "Solliten, aana avanuku yedhavathu suggestions kudukalannu...."

P: "Athellam onnum vendam, Raghav anna yedhavathu kettara?"

M: "Avan ethuvum kekkala, solla pona avane nera varattumanu kettan, nalla rest eduthuka sonnan"

P: "Apram enna? Konjam rest edunga"

Poorna put Mahesh mobile on her side bedside drawer along with her mobile which is also switched off.

She went close to Mahesh again and said "Enga kaminga antha kaiya?" She looked at his right arm above the elbow. The band aid has the droplets of blood still. She touched the wound over the band aid and her eyes got wet. Mahesh noticed this and hugged her with his left arm.

M: "Hey loosu, ippo ethuku kannu kalanguthu?"

Poorna started to weep on Mahesh's chest.

M: "Hey Poorna loosu madiri ippo yen azhara? Chinna kaayam thaana? Sari aagidum, azhama iru, yerkanave head ache, fever, coldayum izhuthu vachukatha"

He wiped her tears. She sniffed her nose and beat him on his chest with her fist.

M: "Ippo ethukudi ennai kuthura?"

P: "Pinna enna? Nethu ethuku ennai apdi carla thaniya vittutu poneenga? Naan kan muzhichu paathapo ungala kaanum, enakku appave bayama irunthuchu, thirudangala paathathum romba bayama aagiduchu, avanunga namma car ku vanthu ennaiyum sethu kadathittu poga porangannu therinjathum enakku uyire illa theriyuma? Mahesh Mahesh nu evlo kathinen, neenga ennai thavikka vittuteenga thaana?" She cried on his chest while giving him fists. After few seconds, Poorna realized there was no response from Mahesh. So she lifted her head and saw him. His eyes were wet and he was trying to control his tears. Poorna got worried. "Ippo neenga ethukku kan kalangureenga? Naan chumma vilayatta thaan unga kooda sandai potten".

M: "Illa Poorna, thappu enmela thaan, naan unna apdi thaniya vittutu poi irukka koodathu, paavam nee evlo bayanthu poi iruppa? Velila vanthu unna antha situation la paathapo enakku en uyire kaila illa, unna epdiyavathu kaapathi intha madiri en kaikullaye vachukanum nu thonuchu"

Tears rolled down from Mahesh's eyes. Poorna got melted to see him like this. She couldn't bear to see Mahesh breaking down like this. She wiped his tears and said "cha cha ipdi lam azhutha enakku pidikathu, naan poren". She distanced herself from Mahesh and tried to lie down on the bed on her own. But Mahesh pulled her with his left hand towards him and again hugged her and kept her in a hold. He said "vitta thaana pova?".

P: "apppaa....intha oru kai balatha vache epdi izhukureenga? Aana pesum pothu pombalai pulla madiri azha vendiyathu"

M: "Gents ku pain, emotions ellam irukkatha? Enna thaan thairiyama irukka try panninalum namakku pidichavangaluku onnuna gents alayum thaangika mudiyathu"

P: "mm correct thaan, aana naan chumma thaan ungakooda sandai potten, unga mela entha thappum illa, antha five minutes neenga illama thavichu poittathu ennavo unmai thaan, aana neenga ennai headache oda irukkum pothu ezhuppa vendannu thaan poi irupeenga, athu enakku theriyum"

M: "amam athaan reason, but intha madiri oru vishayathuku thalai valiye paravalla, inimel ella idathukum unna gundu katta thookitu poiduren"

Poorna smiled.

Mahesh reminded her "Poorna rendu perum tablets podanum, konjam edukkuriya?"

P: "mm amam irunga edukkiren"

She took the tablets from the drawer and gave the Mahesh's ones to him and she also took couple of them. Then Mahesh stretched his hand and signalled Poorna to come to him again. She also smiled and went in his hug. Both of them went to sleep snuggling together in each others arms.
