Azhagu serial - Magesh - Poorna fan fiction - Episode 44 - 12/04/2019

It has been 12o' clock. Mahesh is not back yet. Poorna is becoming incredibly uncomfortable for some reason. He has never been this busy since he joined this office. When he was coming back from Kodaikanal this time, he said he has three days of work to get some paper work signed and will go back to Kodaikanal. But now it doesn't seem like he will go back to Kodaikanal any time soon. It is not a problem if he has extended his work here or he unexpectedly got more work here. What bothered Poorna was the lack of communication from Mahesh about his stay. She can understand the work pressure as long as he communicates it clearly to her. But he runs like a headless chicken and doesn't have much time to communicate with her or he doesn't want to communicate with her? She wanted to talk about that chat girl with him and all of a sudden, he became busy? Something doesn't sit with her right. Above all, she missed his presence, his lovely naughty smiles, teasing, his hugs, everything about him. But he doesn't seem to be bothered much about missing her or spending time with her. This is what bothered Poorna most. She kept rolling left to right and right to left and trying to sleep. 

On the other side, Mahesh is sitting on office canteen lounge in a sofa. Stretched his legs, loosened his tie, loosened his tucked shirt, he looked tired and worn out. He had his mobile in his hand, looking at it frequently. His colleague, a friend came to have a coffee and looked at Mahesh. "Hey Mahesh, inga enna da pannitu irukka? Innuma veetuku pogala?"

"Illa da, konjam tireda irunthuchu, athaan apdiye rest eduthutu irukken"

"Rendu moonu naalave nee sari illa, enna aachu unakku?"

"Pcchhh...onnum illa da"

"Enna onnum illa da? Unna pathi enakku theriyatha? Something is bothering you, enna problem sollu? Poorna kooda yedhavathu problema?"

Mahesh looked at him and was silent.

"So...Poorna kooda thaan problem? Enna aachu sollu? Evlo problemana marriage unga marriage, aana athellathaiyum samalichu Poornava un side vara vachu nee santhoshama iuntha madiri thaana therinjuthu, ippo enna aachu?"

"Onnum illa vidu da, ellam sari aagidum"

"Kandippa ellam sari aagidum, nee ellam sari panniduva, antha nambikkaiya mattum vachuko, unakku suppose pesanunu thonuchuna I'm always here for you"

"I know da, thanks for that"

"Hey periya ivan madiri thanks ellam sollatha, sari oru coffee kudichutu veetuku kilambu, naan thaan night shift paakurenu sonnen, unakku enna kedu? Ozhunga veetuku po, Poorna wait pannitu iruppa"

"Hmm...sari da"

They both had a coffee and Mahesh started his journey to home in two wheeler. He stopped and checked his mobile several times on the way and seemed to be chatting with someone. 

Poorna on the other side checked her whatsapp and saw Mahesh online frequently.

"Kandippa intha nerathula offie colleagues oda pesittu irukka maataru whatsappla" her eyes got wet. Something was rolling inside her stomach. She went to restroom. She felt she should cry, but she kept reminding herself the argument between her and Mahesh couple of days ago and them making up. How much he got hurt for what I said about our relationship, and how lovely he was when he fed me and how he expressed the holiness of our relationship, it felt right, so he will not abuse my trust - she kept telling these things to herself. She started to feel fine. "Intha mobilea paathu paathu thaana naan ipdi feel panren, itha paakama irukkalam" she threw away her mobile on the bed and tried to sleep. 

Mahesh reached home and tried to enter their bedroom without making any noise. Poorna was awake, but her eyes were closed. She didn't want to get up to greet Mahesh for various reasons. She pretended to be sleeping. Mahesh changed into his nightwear and lied on the other side of the bed without disturbing Poorna. He folded one hand and kept it under his head for support. He couldn't go to sleep, was thinking something. Poorna could sense he is still awake. She pretended to be rolling on his side in sleep and put her hand over his stomach like hugging and put her head on his shoulder. Mahesh embraced her. She asked "Thoongalaiya?"

"Nee innum thoongalaiya?"

"Naan thookathula than irukken, neenga vantha sound kettuchu" she pretended to talk in half sleep.

"Oh sari sari, nee thoongu" he caressed her hair.

"Neengalum thoongunga" Poorna hugged him tightly.

Mahesh was so disturbed and couldn't go to sleep. But Poorna hugging him and sleeping on him gave him some comfort. He went to sleep peacefully. She could see he was disturbed when he came back and couldn't sleep, she could also realize he started to feel comfortable with her hug. It made her feel happy. She also went to sleep finally.

Next day morning, Mahesh was supposed to get up early and go to office. But he was tired and in half sleep. His alarm went off at 5.30am once, Poorna turned it off and tried to wake him up, but he didn't get up. It went off again at 6.30am. "Mahesh, Mahesh, innaiku office seekiram poga vendama?" Poorna got concerned. She knows he tries to be punctual and professional at his work.

He didn't respond. She turned off the alarm and let him sleep. She took bath and went to kitchen to help out. Azhagu asked "Mahesh enga ma? Seekirama velaiku poitana?"

"Illa athai, rendu moonu naala neraiya velai illai, athaan tireda thoongitu irukaru, naanum romba disturb pannala"

Everyone had their breakfast and went to college and work.

Poorna wanted to have breakfast with Mahesh, so she came back to the room to see Mahesh if he woke up. He is still sleeping. She started to sort out the room. She collected the clothes for wash, dusted off the tv and furniture. It is around 9.30am. Mahesh phone is ringing, but Mahesh didn't get up to attend it. Poorna after some hesitation attended it. "Hello..."

The call got disconnected as soon as Poorna said Hello.

Poorna became puzzled. She looked at the number. It didn't seem to be familiar. It is not saved under any name. But she could see several calls were made from that number yesterday too, but wasn't answered. She put down the mobile.

She felt nauseated, ran to the bathroom, tried to vomit, but she couldn't. She started to sweat. She couldn't stand, she covered the seat in the western toilet and sat on it. She was feeling giddy. She felt like crying, but she didn't have any energy as she didn't eat well yesterday night and didn't have breakfast this morning. After few minutes, she started to feel better physically, so she came back to the bedroom. She looked at Mahesh who is sleeping still. His face looked so tired and pale. So she put away her doubts and concerns and sat near him and tried to wake him up again. She touched his hand. It is hot, she touched his forehead and realized he is having fever. 

"Mahesh, Mahesh, enna pa fevera irukku? Ezhunthiringa..."

Mahesh finally responded with just "hmm..." and rolled over to the other side in sleep.

"Ezhunthiringa Mahesh, yedhavathu saptutu Dr kitta poitu vanthudalam"

After so much shaking from Poorna, Mahesh tried to open his eyes, but his eyes felt so heavy and couldn't open. He tried to speak, but his mouth is so dry and couldn't get his words out. He signalled Poorna for some water without opening his eyes fully. She gave him some water, he got up with his eyes closed and drank some water.

"Onnum illa Poorna, slighta feverisha irukku, sari agidum, nee worry pannatha"

"Mmhhmm illa illa, ithu slight fever madiri illa, romba sooda irukku udambu ellam, neenga irunga naan poi yedhavathu kanji panni eduthutu varen, saptutu Dr kitta poitu vanthudalam"

"Dr kitta ellam vendam Poorna, just tiredness thaan" Mahesh voice is so weak.

Poorna could see he couldn't even talk properly. "Neenga irunga, first yedhavathu sapidunga, apram Dr kitta polama vendamanu mudivu pannikalam"

She took her mobile and searched for kanji recipes for fever, ran to the kitchen and started to make kanji. Azhagu asked "Enna Poorna? Enna pannitu irukka?"

"Kanji pannitu irukken athai"

"Kanjiya? Ethuku?"

"Avarukku thaan, konjam feverisha irukku"

"Fevera? Eppo irunthu ma?"

"Ippo thaan kalaila irunthu, night tireda iruntharu, but fever illa, kalaila irunthu thaan fevera irukku"

"Sari naan poi avana paakuren, nee kanji panni eduthutu vaa"

Pazhani asked from dining table. "Mahesh ku enna Azhagu, Poorna yetho sonna madiri irunthuchu"

"Fever-a irukkam, athaan poi paaka poren"

"Iru naanum varen"

Both went to Mahesh's room.

Poorna brought kanji, Pazhani and Azhagu were sitting in the bed and were telling Mahesh to go to Dr after having kanji. 

Mahesh didn't open his eyes or didn't talk either. 

Poorna tried to feed him with a spoon. "Mmm inthanga, sapidunga.."

"Vendam Poorna, innum brush pannala"

"Sari brush pannitu vaanga"

"Pcchhh...vidu Poorna, apram brush pannikuren" said Mahesh and lied down again in the bed.

Pazhani "Hey ennada paduthukitta, brush pannalannalum paravalla, intha kanjiya saptutu Dr kitta poitu varalam, naanum varen, Uberla poitu vanthudalam, vaa, ezhunthiri, sapidu"

Mahesh didn't respond.

Azhagu also said with concern. "Ezhunthiri pa"

"Pchhhh....ellarum enna konja neram thoonga vidungalen" yelled Mahesh irritatingly.

Poorna said "Athai, neengalum mamavum keezha ponga, naan avara sapida vachu kootitu varen"

"Sari ma, avan saptathum Uber book panni naama eppavum pora hospital poitu vanthudalam, sariya?" said Pazhani.

Azhagu was caressing Mahesh's hair. 

Pazhani said "Azhagu vaa polam, Poorna avana sapida vachu kootitu varuva"

"Mm sari, Poorna kanji sooda irukkum pothe sapida vachidu ma"

"Saringa athai"

After Azhagu and Pazhani left, Poorna came to the other side of the bed and sat in sappanam position and caressed Mahesh's hair. "Romba tireda irukkulla?"

Mahesh tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't. He got hold of Poorna's hand and held it close to him and started to sleep. She caressed him with other hand. 

She said "Ungala ipdi paaka kashtama irukku". Her voice broke down.

Mahesh put his hands around her neck and brought her closer to him and hugged her.

"Sari agidum, konjam tiredness thaan, vera onnum illa"

"Sari agidum, aana neenga sapta enakku themba irukkum"

"Nee saptiya?"

"Innum illa, neenga ipdi irukkum pothu naan epdi sapidurathu?"

Mahesh didn't reply anything back. He sighed. After few seconds, he got up and sat. 

"Mm..aah..."

Poorna became happy. She started to feed him the kanji. Mahesh didn't like the kanji. His mouth is so bitter and he didn't have any appetite. After two spoonful of kanji, he denied "Pothum Poorna".

"Rendu vaai thaana sapteenga, ethuvume sapidama epdi ezhunthu carku varuveenga? Innum konjam sapidunga, please"

Mahesh mobile rang. Poorna waited.

"Poorna atha attend pannu"

Poorna attended the call. "Hello" the call got disconnected.

He asked "Yaaru?"

"Theriyala, hello sonnathum cut pannitanga"

Mahesh sighed again.

Again the mobile rang. Poorna asked "Unga friend Raghav call panraru, pesureengala?"

"Illa, neeye pesu, fever, leave-nu sollu"

She attended the call. "Hello anna, naan Poorna pesuren, nalla irukeengala?"

Raghav:.....

"Naan nalla irukken na, avaruku thaan fever, innaiku leave-nu solla sonnaru"

Raghav said something on the other side.

"Apdiya? Amam naanum note panninen, nethu nighte tireda thaan iruntharu"

Raghav:.....

"Mm saringa anna, naan avarkitta solliduren"

She disconnected the call.

"Enna sonnan?"

"Ungala nalla rest edukka sonnaru, ella velaiyum avar paathukiraram, ethai pathiyum worry panna vendannu sonnaru"

Mahesh became relieved. 

Poorna started to feed him again. He also cooperated this time and tried to have more kanji.

After feeding him, Poorna booked the taxi. 

Poorna brought some warm water and face towel and wiped Mahesh's face and combed his hair, adjusted his dress. "Sari vaanga, Dr kitta poitu vanthudalam, taxi innum 5 mins la vanthudum"

After Poorna wiped his eyes and face with warm water, Mahesh is finally able to open his eyes and could see. His eyes were red. 

They were all waiting in the living room. Sudha brought hot water in flask. "Intha Poorna itha vachuko, Maheshku thanni thaagam edutha ithaiye kudikka kudu"

"Mm..thanks Sudha"

Azhagu asked "Naanum varatuma nga?"

Pazhani "Ethuku Azhagu, avan enna chinna kozhandaiya? athaan naan poren illa"

"Illainga, kannellam epdi reda irukku paarunga, kashtama irukku"

Mahesh said "Amma, onnum illa, sari agidum, actuala oru tablet pottale sari agidum, aana neenga ellam feel panreengalennu thaan hospitalku poren".

"Illa pa, hospital poitu vanthudurathu better"

Sudha said "Poorna taxi vanthuduchu"

Pazhani and Poorna took Mahesh to the hospital. It is a viral fever, Dr gave him an injection and prescribed some tablets, advised few things on diet and asked Mahesh to take rest for at least three days.

Azhagu and Sudha were waiting for them anxiously.

They all came back.

Azhagu "Vaa pa, vanthu ukkaru"

Mahesh sat on the sofa, but he couldn't sit for more than a minute, he lied down on the sofa. 

Azhagu caressed his forehead and hair. 

"Enna sonnanga Poorna"

"Viral fever-am athai, injection potrukanga, tablets kuduthu irukanga, konjam liquid food, fluidsa eduthuka solliukanga, minimum 3 naalavathu restla irukka sollirukanga"

Pazhani said "Sari ma, avanuku konjam kaai ellam vega vachu arachu soup madiri panni kuduthudunga, romba thicka ellam vendam, lighta serikkura madiri panni kudunga"

"Poorna, naan soup senju tharattuma? Nee Mahesha paathuko" said Sudha.

"Mm sari"

Pazhani said "Mahesh, nee vena maadila bedla paduthukoyen pa"

Mahesh didn't respond anything. 

"Sari vidunga, avan ingaye konja neram paduthu irukattum, soup kudicha piragu vena maadiku pogattum" said Azhagu. 

Poorna went to kitchen to help out. But her mind wasn't there. She came back and sat opposite to Mahesh. Appu is playing in the living room. He got up and stood besides Mahesh and pat him on his arms. Azhagu "Appu inga vaa, chitappavuku udambu sari illa"

Mahesh now talked "Vidunga ma, avan paatuku vilayadattum"

Azhagu didn't say anything afterwards. 

Appu pat Mahesh on his arms and legs for a while. And walked while holding Mahesh for support and went near Mahesh face. He pat on Mahesh's cheeks. Pazhani "Achacho, chittappa kannathulaye adikuriya da? chitappavuku udambu sari illa la, inga vaa". Pazhani brought appu to his side and gave him some toys to play. After playing with toys for a while, appu crawled back to Mahesh again. He got up holding the sofa and saw Mahesh. Pazhani and Azhagu got worried if appu will pat Mahesh again disturbing him, so they were asking appu to come back "Appu inga vaa, chitappava disturb pannatha"

Mahesh said "Pchhh...neenga yaarum avana disturb pannatheenga ma, avan paatuku vilayadattum, avan pinju kai adichu thaan enakku fever adhigam aaga pogutha, solla pona avan adicha comfortinga irukku"

Poorna smiled after hearing what Mahesh said and was watching if Appu is going to pat Mahesh again.

But Appu kissed Mahesh on his cheeks.

Everyone became happy. 

Then appu tried to bite Mahesh cheeks with his toothless mouth. Mahesh laughed and hugged appu and kissed him. 

Then Mahesh said to Poorna "Poorna, appuva thookitu po, avan ipdi cutea play pannina naan avana kiss pannite iruppen, apram avanuku yethavathu infect agida poguthu, ivlo neram chumma adichuttu irunthan, ok, but ippo sir kiss panrenu echi panni vilayada arambichitan, enakku fever sari agura varaikum en pakkathula vidatha, avanuku ethuvum infect aagama irukkanum, naan soup kudichutu maadiku poren"

Poorna got up and brought Appu with her and sat on the opposite sofa and tried to distract appu with some toys. But appu started to cry to go back to Mahesh. 

Poorna said "Enga da oda paakura? Chitappa kooda thaan vilayaduviya? Chithi kooda vilayada maatiya?"

Sudha then came out of the kitchen with soup and said "Athellam onnum infect aagathu Mahesh, nee avankooda vilayadu, intha soup kudi"

Mahesh got up and received the bowl of soup from Sudha. "Illa anni, ethuku vambu? Appu healthya iruntha thaan naama ellam nimmathiya irukka mudiyum"

Everyone smiled.

Sudha brought another bowl of soup and gave it to Poorna. "Poorna, neeyum oru bowl soup kudi, kalaila irunthu onnume nee sapidala"

Mahesh looked at Poorna with concern.

Poona got the soup although she didn't have any appetite. She knows Mahesh will scold her if she didn't eat anything. So she started to have the soup. 

Sudha said "Soup kudichutu nee Mahesha paathuko, unakku naan lunch eduthutu varen".

"Mmm..." agreed Poorna.

After having soup, Poorna took Mahesh to the room. 

She made him to lie down comfortably in the bed. They forgot to take his mobile to the hospital. His mobile rang again. Mahesh got irritated. "Poorna, attend panni paaru, yaarum pesalanna switch off pannidu".

Poorna attended and said "hello" and the call got disconnected as expected.

She wanted to ask Mahesh who it is. But Mahesh is also clearly irritated and she doesn't want to add more irritation by talking about this with him while he has fever. 

He asked "Enna cut aagiducha?"

"Mmm..." replied Poorna.

Sudha knocked on the door. Poorna relieved herself from Mahesh's hug and sat straight. "Ahh ulla vaanga"

Sudha opened the door and came inside with sambhar sadham and appalam.

"Poorna nee itha saptudu, Maheshkum pasicha kudu, but Maheshku oru one hour kazhichu rasam sadham eduthutu varen"

"Anni one hour illa, two hours kazhichu kondu vaanga, ippo thaana soup kudichen"

"Soup chumma thembukku thaan, aana pasi adangathu, Poorna onnume sapidalayenu avaluku first eduthu vanthuten, but ungaluku innum konja nerathula rasam sadham eduthutu varen, sapidunga"

"Mmm saringa anni, epdiyum vendannu sonna kooda neenga vida mateenga, Poornavayum correcta sapida vachidureenga, thanks anni"

"Ithula enna irukku Mahesh, Poorna en thangachi madiri thaana? ungaluku ellam seiyyama naan vera yaaruku seiyya poren, sari Poorna nee sapidu"

"Mmm thanks Sudha"

Sudha left. Mahesh urged Poorna to have her lunch. "Mmm sari nee sapidu, naan konja neram thoonguren, sapidama yemathatha, okva?"

"Mmm sari"

Poorna started to eat. "Yaara irukkum?? Oru velai avar attend panni iruntha pesi irupangalo? Aana yedhavathu enkitta maraikkuravara irunthiruntha ennaiye attend panni irukka solli irukka maataru, athu varaikum konjam reliefa irukku, aana avarukum antha opposite person pathi theriyatha madiri, illa pidikatha madiri thaan thonuthu, apdina avara yaaravathu bother panrangala, fever ellam sari aana piragu thaan avarkitta itha pathi pesa mudiyum".

Poorna finished her lunch. But she couldn't rest. "Athenna call pannitu en voice kettathum cut panrathu? Mostly yaaro oru ponna thaan irukkanum, avaluku enna avlo thimiru? Apdi enna ragasiyam? En purushan kitta mattum thaan pesuvaala? Avala pathi therinjukka ivara yen kashta paduthanum, naamale yedhavathu try pannanum".

Poorna was thinking several options.

Meanwhile Sudha brought rasam sadham with some thuvaiyal for Mahesh and gave it to Poorna.

Poorna woke him up and fed him. He finished half of it after Poorna trying to feed him so hard. Then she gave him the tablets. Mahesh went to sleep again.

Poorna again started to think how to find this person and finally thought of a way.

She noted down the number from Mahesh's mobile. She took her mobile, paper, pen and went to the garden. She hid her number and called the other person.

"Hello, yaar pesureenga?" from the other side.

Poorna thought "Hmm yaaro ponnu thaan".

"Hello Madam, naanga Beauty and Cosmetics companyla irunthu pesurom. Recenta naanga survey eduthukittu irukkom. Ladies must-have cosmetics enna? Do they prefer shopping online or direct from the shop? How much they spend on average? What are the brands they like?...."

"Hello, hello oru nimisham, enakku ippo ithukellam time illa..."

"Madam please ore oru nimisham naan solratha kelunga, neenga 5 questions answer pannina pothum, naanga ungaluku 500rs madhippula cosmetics anuppi vaippom"

"Enna joke panreenga, 5 questions ku 500rs la cosmeticsa?"

"Nijama thaan solren Madam, enga mela nambikkai illana kooda ipdi yosichu paarunga, ithula neenga lose panna porathu maximum 5 mins thaan Madam, but engala nambina ungaluku 500rs gain"

"Mmm....sari unmaiya solla pona naanum bore adichutu thaan ukkanthu irukken, kelunga"

Poorna asked few questions related to survey.

"Thanks Madam, naan vachiduren"

"Hello 500rs cosmetics epdi anuppuveenga?"

"Naanga anuppiduvom Mam, don't worry"

"En name, address ethuvum kekama epdi anuppuveenga?"

"Ayyo amam Madam, sorry naan athai yosikkave illa"

"Neenga yosikka mateengannu theriyum, nice-a 5 questions survey mattum eduthuttu ennai yemathalannu thaan paathu irupeenga, neenga sonna 500rs gift ellam varathunnu enakku nalla purinju pochu"

"Ayyayo sorry Madam, nijama naan maranthuten, kandippa ungaluku thirumba call pannirupen, name and address kekka, aana athukulla neengalave smart-a ennai pidichuteenga, ungala madiri smartana aatkal thaan Madam naanga kooda thedittu irukkom, but naan maranthutenu en manager kitta pottu kuduthudatheenga Madam"

"Unga managera enakku epdi pa theriyum? Unmaiya sonna neenga sariyana makka irukeenga, ungala epdi thaan intha job-ku choose panninangalo, ungaluku ellathaiyum naan solli kudukka vendiyatha irukku"

"Sorry Madam, neenga name and address sollunga, naan note pannikuren" said Poorna.

The other person gave the name and address and Poorna noted it down.

"Ok Madam, koodiya seekiram unga gift pack ungala thedi varum, thanks for your time"

Poorna disconnected the call. "Iru di unakku irukku, first en hubbyku fever sari agattum, aprama unakkum avarukkum enna vivagaram-nu kandu pidikkiren, apram avar mela thappu irunthalum sari, un mela thappu irunthalum sari, rendu peraiyum enna panrenu paaru" thought Poorna.
